Hello Lina Mz,

The correct sentence should be: я собираюсь читать мою новую книгу.

Hello Ken Caviness,

Your sentences are correct.

"Я еду путешествовать." is correct.

Thank you for your suggestions, we will think about it.

A couple attempts at using the pattern "У меня ":

У меня кошка : I have a cat

У меня идея : I have an idea

У меня комментарий : I have a comment

And following almost the same pattern:

У меня болит голова: I have a headache.

I was excited by the idea of a list of the top 10 most used sentence patterns in Russian, but find it difficult to believe that some of these made the cut. In several cases, the example sentence is basically the only one that can be built following the pattern, so it isn't a useful pattern to practice.

For example:

A subject B verb/predicate на балет. Example: Я иду на балет.

(Only possible variation is to change who's going to the ballet. A more useful pattern would be to change the destination!)

А adverb B demonstrative pronoun стоит? Example: Сколько это стоит?

А (WH-word) проийти на станцию? Example: Как пройти на станцию?

Что A demonstrative pronoun значит? Entry: Что это значит?

(I can't think of any other example for any of these. They are useful sentences, but not productive patterns for forming other common sentences.)

A subject B verb/predicate путешествовать. Example: Я еду путешествовать.

(Is this even correct? "I go by transport to travel." Native speakers, please comment!)

RussianPod101 staff: Please consider redoing this post with patterns that can help us create many commonly used sentences. It's a great idea, I'd love to see it done.
