Привет(privet)! Hello everyone, and you are with me Katyusha, with 15 questions you should know. Let’s see what you should know and it could be really useful for you when you are in Russia. |
1. Вы когда-нибудь были в России? (Vy kogda-nibud' byli v Rossii?) "Have you ever been to Russia?" |
2. Где вы живёте? (Gde vy zhivote?) "Where do you live?" |
Где (Gde) “where”; вы (vy) “do you”; живёте (zhivote) “live”. |
3. Где вы работаете? (Gde vy rabotayete?) "Where do you work?" |
If you lost your direction, you can ask, for example, |
“Where is the station?” Где станция? (Gde stantsiya?) |
4. Где вы учили русский язык? (Gde vy uchili russkiy yazyk?) "Where did you learn Russian?" |
Где вы учили (Gde vy uchili) “where did you learn”. It’s a lot of Where questions. |
5. Где находится туалет? (Gde nakhoditsya tualet?) "Where is the toilet?" |
Идите направо (Idite napravo) “Go to the right.” |
6. Как вас зовут? (Kak vas zovut?) "What‘s your name?" |
My name is Katyusha, Меня зовут Катюша (Menya zovut Katyusha). |
And what’s your name? |
7. Как дела? (Kak dela?) "How are you?" |
Как дела? Хорошо? (Kak dela? Khorosho?) |
И у я хорошо. Спасибо. (I u ya khorosho. Spasibo.) |
8. Как долго вы учите русский язык? (Kak dolgo vy uchite russkiy yazyk?) "How long have you been studying Russian?" |
“I’ve been studying Russian language for three weeks” |
Я учу русский язык на протяжении трёх недель. |
(Ya uchu russkiy yazyk na protyazhenii trokh nedel’.) |
How long have you been studying Russian with me hah? |
9. Какой у вас номер телефона? (Kakoy u vas nomer telefona?) "What‘s your phone number?" |
I am sure you get asked this question a lot. |
Sorry I forgot my phone number. |
Извините, я забыла свой номер телефона. |
(Izvinite, ya zabyla svoy nomer telefona.) |
10. Когда ваш день рождения? (Kogda vash den' rozhdeniya?) "When is your birthday?" |
My birthday is soon. Мой день рождения очень скоро. (Moy den' rozhdeniya ochen' skoro.) |
11. Откуда вы? (Otkuda vy?) "Where are you from?" |
where are you from? Or you can also switch and say Вы откуда? (Vy otkuda?) “You are from where?” |
Откуда вы? (Otkuda vy?) |
Вы откуда? (Vy otkuda?) |
I am from Russia, and you? |
12. Сколько вам лет? (Skol'ko vam let?) "How old are you?" |
“I am going to be 18 soon.” |
Мне скоро будет восемнадцать.(Mne skoro budet vosemnadtsat’.) |
13. Что-что? (Chto-chto?) "What-what?" |
Что вы сказали?(Chto vy skazali?) “What did you say?“ |
Что-что? (Chto-chto?), like "what what?" |
This you can hear really a lot. |

“What what! What did you say?” |
14. Что это? (Chto eto?) "What is it?" |
What is it? It’s a present for you. |
Это подарок для тебя. (Eto podarok dlya tebya.) |
15. Вам это нравится? (Vam eto nravitsya?) "Do you like this?" |
Do you like it? You are choosing flowers, so you can ask, |
“Do you like this flower?” Тебе нравятся эти цветы? (Tebe nravyatsya eti tsvety?) |
“Do you like this movie?” Тебе нравится это кино? (Tebe nravitsya eto kino?) |
