Becky: Welcome to 3-Minute Russian Season 1, Lesson 1 - Self Introduction. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to introduce yourself in Russian.

Becky: Here's the informal way to say 'Hi I'm Katya.' in Russian.
Elena: [Normal] Привет, я Катя.(Privet, ya Katya.)
Becky: First is a word meaning 'Hi'
Elena: [Normal] привет [Slow] привет (privet)
Becky: Next is the word meaning 'I'
Elena: [Normal] я [Slow] я(ya)
Becky: Last is the person’s name, in this case 'Katya'

Elena: The typical greeting between men is a firm handshake while saying "Hello". Men can also shake hands with women, but it shouldn’t be strong. Women typically greet each other by just giving the appropriate greeting. Friends can greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. While you’re shaking hands, it is better to remove your gloves.
