Akanie and ikanie rules or pronounication rules?

I joined this site recently but I haven't found lessons that cover these rules in depth and was wondering if there are any as I haven't been able to find them. I have been having difficulty learning these rules effectively and having them stick with the material I've been given my teacher. I am also taking one on one classes once a week in conjuction with the Russianpod101 courseware.

Any help or direction to effective methods here or elsewhere so I can master these rules is most appreciated.
