russian idiom for you all

Postby russian_guy » January 26th, 2010 9:10 pm

here are two russian idioms i like the best
он роботает спуся рукава which translates as he works with lowered sleeve's
but is a idiom used to say someone is lazy.

я собираюсь показать, где раки зимуют it translates as i am going to show where the crayfish spend winter.
this can be used as the english way
to give a peice of your mind to someone

umm you're litle bit not right...
not он роботает спуся рукава but он работает спустя рукава
second: я собираюсь показать, где раки зимуют... i should be like this: я тебе покажу, где раки зимуют i will be correctly :D

you're welcome) i'm native russian so i know that this phrases are not usually used now... sometimes we use работает спустя рукава but only few people use second idiom)
